On June 13, 2024 several Oceanside Longboard Surfing Club members gathered at the USA Longboard Championships to compete with the hopes of making the ISA team to represent the United States of America.

The ISA games are considered the Olympics of longboarding where elite athletes from a variety of countries get together and compete with an opportunity to win individual medals as well as a medal for their country.

The waves were sizable throughout the day and the wind stayed relatively mellow allowing the surfers to showcase their skills.

Kaitlin Mikkelsen and Richie Cravey were victorious and secured their spots on the ISA team followed by OLSC’s Rachael Tilly getting the second women’s slot while Jack Van Wagoner finished in the second men’s slot.

OLSC’s Reid Van Wagoner took third which qualifies her as a back up in case one of the ladies are not able to compete while Kevin Skvarna and Steven Newton placed third and fourth in the finals which places them as a back ups as well.

It was a great day for the Oceanside Longboard Surfing Club!
