Join us for an action packed three-day family-friendly extravaganza at the beautiful Oceanside Pier on August 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2026.

Building on the success of the previous 40 years, our event promises to deliver a wide range of activities suitable for the entire family. From professional surfers hailing from the tropical waves of Hawaii to the chilly waters of Santa Cruz and beyond, participants will showcase their skills in the thrilling Coalition of Surfing Clubs competition.

The King and Queen of the Pier, a Pro/Am Invitational, aptly named kicks off on Friday, August 7th. This event features some of the best longboard surfers in the world vying for the coveted title, beautiful , handcrafted trophies as well as $5,000 in prize money for each division. This adrenaline-pumping competition, culminating in the finals on Saturday, August 9th.

Adjacent to the beach, the Band Shell area will come alive with vibrant energy. A variety of vendors will tempt you with unique products, while live music will entertain both contest spectators and beachgoers. Don’t miss this chance to immerse yourself in the sun, sand, and surf culture at its finest. See you at the Oceanside Pier!

LeRoy Grannis Watermans Award receiptant for 2025, Chris Ahrens

This award will be presented at the Surf Club’s 40th annual surf contest on Saturday, August 9th, 2025.

This year the Surf Club will honor Chris Ahrens. Chris has been a life long surfer and writer of numerous books. He has written articles for every major surf magazine along with being the editor of two surfing publications. He is a protector of the environment, especially the marine and coastal ecosystems. Please join us in honoring Chris Ahrens Saturday, August 9th at the Oceanside bandshell just south of the Oceanside pier at 3:00PM.
